A Honda CRV reported stolen from Manchester was involved in a single vehicle crash in West Hartford early Thursday morning, and the suspect(s) fled the scene, police said.
West Hartford Police Sgt. Amanda Martin said the crash was reported at 5:30 a.m. on Thursday. The vehicle, which had been traveling on South Main Street, came to a stop when it crashed into a stone pillar of the driveway of a home on Crestwood Road, on the northeast corner of Crestwood and South Main.
Witnesses told police that two people were seen running from the crashed vehicle, and a witness also reported to police that one of the suspects may have been picked up by another vehicle.
Neither a driver nor any other suspects have been located, according to police.
No injuries were reported, police said.
According to Martin, when police responded to the scene a query of the license plate determined that the vehicle had been reported stolen from Manchester. Manchester Police responded to the scene and took possession of the vehicle, she said.
