In the midst of holiday shopping madness, New Country MINI is making it easy for shoppers to help those less fortunate this season.

New Country “Stuff the Mini to the Max” winter clothing collection rolled into the Shops at Somerset Square in Glastonbury last weekend, and next weekend will be held in West Hartford Center and Cabela’s in East Hartford, accepting donations of warm clothes and accessories for Hartford school children. New and gently used coats, mittens, boots, hats, and blankets for children ranging from pre-K through high school, as well as monetary donations, will be collected.

“We started the campaign at our dealership in November, but we realize it’s not always convenient for people to stop in,” said Sam Herman, Sales Manager for New Country MINI. “We wanted to make it simple to drop off a donation where people are already out shopping, dining and visiting Santa.”

A MINI Cooper vehicle will be parked at each location and open to accept donations on the following remaining dates:

  •  Saturday, Dec. 19, and Sunday Dec. 20, at Treva Restaurant located at 980 Farmington Ave. and Avert Brassiere at 35 A LaSalle Rd. have reserved parking spots for MINI Coopers in front of the restaurants from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. both days.
  • Saturday, Dec. 19, and Sunday, Dec. 20, at Cabela’s located at 475 East Hartford Blvd N. in East Hartford during regular store hours.

Clothing donations will continue to be accepted at the New Country MINI showroom located at 236 Reverend Moody Overpass in Hartford from now until Dec. 20. The items will then be distributed to students at the Hartford school’s Welcome Center on Monday, Dec. 21.

“We are indebted to the kind retailers who are graciously supporting our efforts by giving us space to park the MINI,” adds Herman. “The holidays are truly about sharing and giving and we are excited to share the warmth of the season with children in need.”
