Team of Dynamic Female Physicians to Headline Women’s Health Symposium in West Hartford

Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center and Trinity Health of New England are partnering with the Mandell Jewish Community Center for the March 22 symposium in West Hartford.

The Mandell Jewish Community Center is pleased to announce a dynamic lineup of female physicians for its annual Women’s Health Symposium on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 6 p.m. at the Mandell JCC in West Hartford.

The latest trends in women’s healthcare are the focus of this free event, open to the community. “At a time when women’s issues are critical worldwide, this important symposium will explore a range of topics and empower women to advocate for their health,” says Sara Billings, Assistant Recreation and Wellness Director for the Mandell JCC.

Screening guidelines and prevention strategies for breast cancer, including the latest in screening technologies like 3D mammography, ultrasound, and MRI, will be one of the many topics discussed by an esteemed panel of physicians from Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center.

The panel includes: Anita Kelsey, MD, Cardiology; Christine Rizk, MD, Breast Surgery; Karyn Hansen, MD, Gynecological Oncology; Lisabeth Shlansky, MD, Obstetrics, Gynecology; and Michelle Romero, MD, Diagnostic Radiology.

“This panel of women includes some of the leading experts in the Greater Hartford area,” says Annie Keith, Chief Operating Officer for the Mandell JCC. “This event is a tremendous opportunity to provide the women of our community with important information about their health, preventative measures and methods to improve their well-being. We value the important relationship we have with Saint Francis and truly believe that panel discussions like this will help to build stronger and healthier communities.”
