‘The Power of Music’ Will End Beth El Temple’s Music Season on Powerful Note

‘The Power of Music’ will be held at Beth El Temple on Sunday, June 2 at 7 p.m., featuring area musicians including former Hall High School band director John Mastroianni on clarinet.

A dynamic and powerful concert will close the 2019 Beth El Music Season season! Feel the Power of Music, from an early 20th century piano masterpiece, to the swinging hits of the 1930s, to the get-on-your-feet rock of the 1970s. Israeli pianist Tomer Gewirtzman will perform Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in G Minor Op. 16 Fast forward with us to Frank Sinatra’s version of “It Was a Very Good Year” with Alan Piacenta, vocalist, and “Sing, Sing, Sing,” by Benny Goodman with Chris Bonito on drums; Daryl Latoya at the guitar; special guests John Mastroianni on clarinet and saxophone; and Alex Nakhimovssky on keyboards. We will rock with “The New Remains” in their return visit to BET, performing: “Beginnings” by Chicago; “Golden Slumbers,” “Carry that Weight,” and “The End,” The by Beatles; “We Will Rock You”and “We Are the Champions” by Queen.

Cantor Joseph Ness will conduct.
