Building on two successful Community Job & Resource Fairs, Town of West Hartford and the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce promises to bring a bigger, broader event for both employers and job seekers.

The third annual Job & Resource Fair will be held on Tuesday, May 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Elmwood Community Center, 1106 New Britain Avenue. (Access facility via Burgoyne Street.)

Local and regional economies continue to face extraordinary challenges in hiring workers that meet their qualifications as well as job seekers looking to land a meaningful job with growth and flexibility.

“Our past Community Job & Resource Fairs were big successes for both employers and job seekers,” said Kristen Gorski, Economic Development Coordinator for the Town of West Hartford. “Businesses have been pleased to have more than 150 job seekers to interface with over the course of the event, and have had great success finding matches to fill their openings.”

Past participating businesses have included banking, manufacturing, food service, retail and health care. All industries are encouraged to participate as we expect a diverse set of job seekers to attend.

Vendor space is limited and will be assigned on a first-come basis. There is no fee to participate but registration is required. To register, please email: [email protected] to reserve your table. Registration for job seekers is not required.

“I encourage businesses in need of filling positions with the right candidates to take advantage of this unique opportunity to strengthen our community’s workforce and vitality,” stated Mayor Shari Cantor. “I applaud the Town’s Economic Development staff and Chamber of Commerce for coordinating this special event.”

“The Town of West Hartford is eager to continue assisting our community’s residents and business owners who have experienced so much turbulence over the last few years, and we are confident the Community Job & Resource Fair will continue to be a solid resource for both,” said Gorski.

“This event represents the Town and Chamber’s commitment to matching qualified job seekers with opportunities at local businesses and organizations right in our community. In addition, several employment resource partners will be on-hand to assist businesses in creating pipelines for hiring needs,” stated Christopher Conway, President & CEO, West Hartford Chamber of Commerce.

For more information and to register for the event, please email [email protected].
