We-Ha.com has been hosting a recurring Facebook Live forum since the COVID-19 pandemic began, and this week’s special edition, Wednesday, Dec 9 beginning at 6 p.m., will feature Keith Grant, senior system director of infection prevention at Hartford HealthCare and a member of the governor’s COVID-19 task force.

Vaccination is on the horizon – and the process is scheduled to begin in just a matter of days.

Grant will discuss the vaccination schedule – when and how the process will begin and who gets to be vaccinated first – and the importance of getting both doses.

He will speak about vaccine safety, how they were developed so quickly, the differences in the initial vaccines that will be available and others types that are under development.

In Part 2 of the special Wednesday edition, beginning at 6:30 p.m., we will welcome Dr. Nick Bennett.

Dr. Bennett is a pediatric infectious disease doctor with a Ph.D in virology. He has helped run several clinical trials for vaccines, and is currently a study participant in the Pfizer COVID vaccine study.

He will provide information about what goes into the vaccines, safety measures are taken in approving them, and also provide some insight into how the vaccines were safely developed so quickly.

The event will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 9, from 6-7 p.m. and will be hosted by John Lyons and Ronni Newton.

To be notified when the event goes live, register for the event on Facebook.

The forum will also be carried by West Hartford Community Interactive on cable TV (Comcast channel 5 and Frontier 6098) and YouTube, as well as on multiple Facebook groups.

Grant will also respond to questions from viewers posted in the Facebook Live comment stream. Questions for consideration can also be emailed in advance to Ronni Newton at [email protected] or posted in the comments below.
