West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District To Host Virtual Diabetes Self-Management Workshops

Day and evening sessions are available in the winter and spring of 2025 for a diabetes management workshop series hosted by the West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District.

The West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District will offer a free, seven-week diabetes workshop series for individuals with type 2 diabetes who are newly diagnosed or for persons who may need an update on managing their diabetes.
Workshop topics include meal planning, eating out, label reading, checking blood glucose and target blood glucose levels, medications, exercising safely, and much more!
There are opportunities for questions and comments as we share our virtual learning experience on Zoom.

Upcoming workshop dates are:
- WORKSHOP 1: Thursday day session. Jan. 9, 16, 23, 30, and Feb. 6, 13, 20, 2025. 10 a.m.-noon
- WORKSHOP 2: Thursday evening session. Jan. 9, 16, 23, 30, and Feb. 6, 13, 20, 2025. 6-8 p.m.
- WORKSHOP 3: Wednesday day session. April 23, 30, and May 7, 14, 21, 28, and June 4, 2025. 10 a.m.-noon.
- WORKSHOP 4: Wednesday evening session. April 23, 30, and May 7, 14, 21, 28, and June 4, 2025. 6-8 p.m.
Pre-registration is required as workshop materials will be mailed to you prior to the start of the workshop.
The workshops will be led Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist Paula Kellogg Leibovitz. Choose the workshop that best meets your schedule. The workshops are made possible by a grant from the CT Department of Public Health.
