West Hartford Chamber and Town to Host Forum on ‘Business Solutions in the World of COVID-19’

The West Hartford Chamber of Commerce’s virtual discussion will be held on Thursday, Nov. 19.

“Business Solutions in the World of COVID-19,” a virtual event to allow a hearty discussion of ongoing challenges as it relates to the COVID-19 pandemic, will be held on Nov. 19, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. via Zoom streaming to Facebook Live and West Hartford Community interactive streaming to YouTube Live.

Feedback from major industries and/or employers is encouraged regarding ways in which the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce and Town of West Hartford can help support business continuity, including what to do now and what to do next.

This roundtable discussion will be hosted by the West Hartford Chamber’s Economic Development Committee along with invited guests from the Town Council’s Special Committee on Economic Recovery and Workforce, allowing for business owners and community leaders to connect on important issues during this unprecedented time. Chuck Coursey of Coursey & Co., who serves as Chairman of the Chamber’s Economic Development Committee will be the facilitator.

The roundtable will consist of one Chamber-member business representative from each of our major industries and/or major employers. Panelists are as follows:

  • Healthcare – Hartford Healthcare
  • Manufacturing – Legrand North America, Vice President and General Manager Wiremold Scott Bausch
  • Retail – Fleet Feet owner Stephanie Blozy
  • Education – University of Saint Joseph President Rhona Free
  • Nonprofit – Future’s Inc. President & CEO Pamela DonAroma
  • Fitness – Lifer Fitness Studio owner Debra Fountain
  • Property Manager – RLM Co. owner Mike Mahoney
  • Restaurant – DORO Restaurant Group COO Scott Miller

Opening remarks will be provided by each panelist (5 minutes per person), followed by questions which will be shared with panelists in advance. Lastly, the forum will allow for a Q&A portion from one designated representative from the Chamber’s Economic Development Committee and the Council’s Special Recovery Committee, followed by closing remarks.

Questions will also be taken from virtual attendees as time permits.
