The West Hartford Exchange Club recently donated $400 to support David Higgins, a Boy Scout in Troop 44 who is doing his Eagle Scout project.  The project is to make decorative posts for Elizabeth Park to control the parking in the park.

The donation was made at a recent club meeting. Club President Joe Righenzi made the presentation to David and commented, “We are so proud to support David in this worthwhile community project. He certainly has taken the initiative to identify a problem and come up with a creative and attractive solution and we commend him for his efforts.” Joining Righenzi to make the presentation were West Hartford Town Council members Chris Barnes and Denise Hall.

The West Hartford Exchange Club’s mission is to make its community a better place to live through programs of service in Americanism, Community Service, Youth Activities and its national project, the Prevention of Child Abuse. The club sponsors the West Hartford Police & Firefighters Annual Service Awards and provides annual scholarships to Hall and Conard graduates. The club also donates to a variety of local charities.
