West Hartford native Dylan Udolf has qualified to represent the United States at the 2023 FIS (International Ski and Snowboard Federation) Snowboard World Championships in Bakuriani, Georgia this winter.
The competition will be held from Feb. 19 through March 5, 2023.
Udolf, a 2016 graduate of Kingswood Oxford School in West Hartford, recently graduated cum laude from the D’Amore McKim School of Business at Northeastern University in Boston. He has been snowboarding since the age of 6, and racing professionally for the past 10 years.
Udolf holds 13 national titles, and has competed on the World Cup circuit since 2018. According to FIS, in 2021-2022 he had his best season, finishing ranked in second place overall in North America.
Udolf gives credit for his success to his lead snowboard coach for the past five seasons, former Olympian Justin Reiter. He also credits the offseason conditioning in which he has been participating – a program run by Jeff Aldeus, a former body coach at Tom Brady’s TB12 training center who is also a former trainer for the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs.
The best snowboarders from around the World for their respective disciplines participate in the FIS Snowboard World Championships, which are held every two years. Udolf will compete in both the Parallel Giant Slalom and Parallel Slalom events. Competition begins Feb. 19 and can be watched live on NBC Sports.
