West Hartford Police Identify Victim Fatally Struck by Vehicle

An 80-year-old West Hartford man has been identified as the victim hit by a vehicle on Saturday evening.

Police are continuing to investigate a collision that took place on Albany Avenue on Saturday evening, but on Monday identified the victim who was fatally struck as 80-year-old David Goldfarb of West Hartford.
According to police, the incident occurred at approximately 5:48 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 6. Police and West Hartford Fire Department personnel responded and provided emergency medical aid at the scene to Goldfarb, who had been struck by a vehicle.
He was transported to an area hospital but the injuries sustained were fatal, Capt. Daniel Moffo said Saturday.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision remained on the scene, police said.
The West Hartford Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team was involved in the investigation, which closed a stretch of Albany Avenue between King Philip Drive/Trout Brook Drive and North Steele Road for several hours.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident and did not release any further information about the cause of the collision. The driver of the vehicle involved has not been identified, nor police did say whether or not the driver faces any charges.
