West Hartford Police Department detectives are actively investigating a report of shots fired associated with a disturbance Monday night in the Hillcrest Avenue area.

According to Capt. Eric Rocheleau, dispatchers received a report around 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 6, that shots had been fired in the vicinity of 107-127 Hillcrest Ave.

Units responded, he said, and determined that a disturbance “involving several females” had taken place in the area, and a firearm had been discharged two or three times by an unknown individual. Witnesses at the scene told police that they had heard the shots fired.

Police said the suspect had fled the area on foot.

A K-9 unit as well as detectives searched the area but did not located the suspect, Rocheleau said. No injuries or property damage was reported.

West Hartford detectives are continuing their investigation and ask that anyone who has information contact police via the routine number 860-523-5203, or via the anonymous Tip Line at 860-570-8969, or email [email protected].
