West Hartford Police Nab Pair of Carjacking Suspects with Multiple Outstanding Warrants

West Hartford Police located a vehicle that had been stolen at gunpoint and apprehended two suspects on Friday.

West Hartford Police spotted a vehicle Friday afternoon that had been reportedly involved in a carjacking and after a foot pursuit apprehended two suspects.

According to police, a vehicle that had been reported stolen gunpoint in Hartford was spotted around 2:30 p.m. Friday in the area of Trout Brook Drive and Park Road.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle by deploying a tire deflation device, but said the operator of the vehicle fled and engaged officers in pursuit, traveling into Hartford before coming to a stop near the intersection of Arlington and Stone streets.

The two occupants of the vehicle ran from police, but were apprehended without injury by West Hartford Police. No damage resulted from the incident, police said.

Police identified the occupants as Irving Adams, 45, of Hartford, and Gabrielle Goulet, 24, of Tolland.

Adams has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle, second-degree larceny, interfering with police, first-degree reckless endangerment, reckless driving, operating with a suspended license/registration, engaging in pursuit, and failure to obey a control signal.

He is in custody on $250,000 surety bond, and police said he also has seven outstanding arrest warrants for failure to appear on charges of robbery, burglary, and violation of probation stemming from incidents in other towns.

Goulet has been charged with two counts of interfering with police, conspiracy to commit motor vehicle theft, conspiracy to commit second-degree larceny, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of illegal possession of narcotics.

Goulet, whom police said also has three outstanding arrest warrants for failure to appear in connection with burglary and larceny charges, is being held on $50,000 surety bond related to Friday’s charges.
