The Rotary Club of West Hartford will be holding its signature event, “Vines of May” on Saturday, May 14 from 7 to 10 p.m. at West Hartford Town Hall. Tickets are $75 per person and benefit the Rotary Club of West Hartford’s many local service projects. The “Presenting Sponsor” for the event is PeoplesBank.

Spend a Saturday night tasting an array of reds and whites, noshing on samples from several of West Hartford’s finest restaurants, winning fantastic prizes, and doing good. The event combines a wine tasting and small appetizers, with both a silent and live auction. Once again, the celebrity hosts of the auction are WTNH Chief Political Anchor Dennis House, and his wife, WFSB News Anchor, Kara Sundlun.

Harvey’s Wine and Spirits will provide a wide range of whites and reds to sample during the event. Food vendors for the event include: Beachland Tavern, Blue Elephant Trail, Corner Pug, Crown Market, Effie’s Place, Fleming’s Steakhouse, Harry’s Bishop’s Corner Pizza, Hartford Baking Company, J Restaurant and Bar, Jimmie’s Pizza, Joey’s Pizza Pie, Maruichi Japanese Market, Pond House Café, Yosi Kosher Catering, and more.

Dozens of auction items, including West Hartford restaurant packages, sports memorabilia, golf outings, and garden supplies will be on the block.

“The benefits of ‘Vines of May’ go beyond one evening, beyond the month of May, and well beyond West Hartford,” explained event chairperson and Rotary President Kyle Egress of West Hartford. “Our club is able to give to organizations like Johnny’s Jog for Charity, the Dictionary Project, West Hartford’s Gifts of Music, and Town that Cares programs. On a global level, we’re taking on clean water projects and joining the fight to end polio now.  This evening of food, wine, and friendship celebrates and perpetuates initiatives like these,” Egress added

Tickets can be purchased online at www.westhartfordrotary.org. There are a limited number of tickets available. Call Rick Liftig at 860-216-7993 with any questions.
