West Hartford Women in Networking will host a presentation on local history called “The Surprising History of Noah Webster and the Town that Shaped Him.” The group will learn something about the town that they all meet in – and that there is more to it than Chatfield and Blue Back Square!
Noah Webster, best known as the author of the American dictionary, is one of the nation’s forgotten founding fathers. Webster was born in West Hartford in 1758 at a time when the town was little more than a farming annex to the City of Hartford. Learn more about the man and the community that shaped him in this engaging presentation by the Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society’s Executive Director, Jennifer DiCola Matos.
In addition to the presentation, there will be introductions, refreshments, networking, door prizes, and more!
The next meeting of WWIN will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2015, from 7:30 – 9:45 a.m. at Chatfield, One Chatfield Dr., West Hartford.
