West Hartford Youth Football – Week Four Game Summaries

Scores and highlights of West Hartford Youth Football games played Sept. 24-25, 2016.

The West Hartford Youth Football League (WHYFL) kicked off Week 4 of its 61st season Sunday afternoon at Sterling Field in West Hartford, Farmington High School, and at Southington Recreation Park, with a full slate of games at the Flag (5, 6, and 7) Mighty Mite (7, 8 and 9 year olds), Pee Wee (10 and 11 year olds), and Pony (12, 13, and 14 year olds) divisions. In addition, the league welcomed the return of cheerleading and an integrated schedule with the Farmington Valley Mudhogs and Southington Valley Midget Football League at all tackle division levels.

Pony/A Level

Park Tavern Chargers 51, Southington Chargers 12 – The Park Tavern Chargers scored early and often en route to a 51-12 victory over the Southington Chargers Saturday at Southington Recreation Park.The Park Tavern Chargers (2-1) will return home to pay the Northstar Wealth Partner Raiders (1-3), while the Southington Chargers (0-3) will play the Brewer Paving Eagles (2-2).

Farmington Blue 32, Southington Patriots 8 – Farmington Blue downed the previously unbeaten Southington Patriots 32-8 Sunday afternoon at Farmington High School. Farmington Blue (3-1) will travel to Southington to play the Southington Chargers (0-3), while the Southington Patriots (3-1) return home to play Farmington Black (1-1).

Brewer Paving Eagles 39, Northstar Wealth Partner Raiders 19 – The Brewer Paving Eagles won their second straight with a 39-19 victory over the Northstar Wealth Partner Raiders Sunday afternoon at Sterling Field. The Eagles (2-2) will move on to face the Southington Chargers (0-3), while the Raiders (1-3) will match up with the Park Tavern Chargers (2-1).

Macca Plumbing Giants 34, West Hartford Health & Rehab Colts 6 – The Macca Plumbing Giants won their second straight game, with a 34-6 victory over the West Hartford Health and Rehab Colts Sunday afternoon at Sterling Field. The Macca Plumbing Giants (3-1) will move on to face the Southington Panthers (2-1), while the West Hartford Health and Rehab Colts (2-2) will match up with the Dick’s Sporting Goods Patriots (0-3).

Southington Panthers 32, Dick’s Sporting Goods Patriots 12 – The Southington Panthers returned to their winning ways, downing the Dick’s Sporting Goods Patriots 32-12 Saturday afternoon at Southington Recreation Park. The Panthers (2-1) will move on to face the Macca Plumbing Giants (3-1), while the Dick’s Sporting Goods Patriots (0-3) will match up with the West Hartford Health and Rehab Colts (2-2).

Southington Steelers 13, Farmington Maroon 6 – The Southington Steelers edged Farmington Maroon 13-6 to win their third straight game Saturday afternoon at Southington Recreation Park. The Southington Steelers (3-1) will move on to face Farmington Blue (2-0), while Farmington Maroon is off next week.

Park Tavern Chargers 51, Southington Chargers 12 – The Park Tavern Chargers scored early and often en route to a 51-12 victory over the Southington Chargers Saturday at Southington Recreation Park.The Park Tavern Chargers (2-1) will return home to pay the Northstar Wealth Partner Raiders (1-3), while the Southington Chargers (0-3) will play the Brewer Paving Eagles (2-2).

The Eagles (2-2) will move on to face the Southington Chargers (0-3), while the Raiders (1-3) will match up with the Park Tavern Chargers (2-1).

 

Mighty Mite/C Level

Beachland Tavern Jets 26, Watts Group Steelers 6 – The Beachland Tavern Jets continued their winning ways with a solid 26-6 victory over the Watts Group Steelers Sunday morning at Sterling Field. The Jets (3-0) will travel to Southington to play the Southington Dolphins (1-2), while the Steelers (0-3) will face off against Farmington Black (1-2).

Fischman Orthodontics Cowboys 36, Bishop Photo Browns 21 – The Fischman Orthodontics Cowboys won a shootout, outlasting the Bishop Photo Browns 36-21 Sunday afternoon at Sterling Field. The Cowboys (3-1) are off this week, while the Browns (2-2) will travel to Southington to play the Southington Lions (2-1).

Southington Lions 13, Farmington Black 6 – The Southington Lions won their second straight game, edging Farmington Black 13-6 Saturday at Southington Recreation Park. The Lions (2-1) will next match up against the Bishop Photo Browns (2-2), while Farmington Black (1-2) will play the Watts Group Steelers (0-3).
