West Hartford is a “hot town” in the summer, and Blue Back Square is hosting a wide variety of events so that the days as well as the nights will be a vibrant hub of activity for people of all ages.
Some of the plans are for recurring events, such as Camp Blue Back and the Sounds of Summer Concert Series.
Camp Blue Back takes place every Tuesday, from 10-11:30 a.m., in the courtyard outside of Barnes & Noble, beginning on Tuesday, June 18. The final session will be Tuesday, Aug. 13. Each week has a different theme, and features face painting, crafts, and more.
Camp Blue Back is free of charge and advance registration is not required. The complete Camp Blue Back schedule can be found here.
The Sounds of Summer Concert Series, featuring Latanya Farrell and her band, begins on Thursday, June 20, from 6-8 p.m. in the courtyard. Area restaurants will offer specials all night long.
In addition to June 20, performances will be held on Thursday, July 25 and Thursday, Aug. 22.
Exciting one-time events on the schedule include the family-friendly Rock & Roll Playhouse kids’ concert featuring the music of Taylor Swift, on Saturday, June 22 beginning at noon. Guests are encouraged to come dressed as Taylor, and ready to enjoy live music and other fun activities such as making friendship bracelets and treats.
