Westminster Presbyterian Church is excited to host its 3rd Annual “Raking in the Fun” Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024, from 1 to 5 p.m. This free, family-friendly event will take place on the church grounds at 2080 Boulevard, West Hartford, and is open to the entire community.

This year’s festival promises an exciting afternoon of live music, delicious food, and fun for all ages! Bryce French and Zac Burns will take the stage alongside the energetic cover band Down to Funk, performing hits from the ‘70s to today. Also gracing the event will be Notes Over Storrs, a co-ed a cappella group from the University of Connecticut, and L’Shir, a co-ed a cappella group from the University of Hartford, ensuring a diverse and dynamic musical lineup.

While the music plays, guests can indulge in mouth-watering treats from an incredible selection of food trucks, including:

  • Mobile Mixology: Craft cocktails expertly served from a mobile bar
  • Caribbean Cravings: Authentic Trinidadian cuisine
  • Brazilian Gula Grill: Classic Brazilian dishes that will transport your taste buds
  • Marlo’s Macarons: Sweet and delicate French macarons
  • Tan: Traditional Chinese sugar donuts with contemporary flavors for a unique experience

Beyond the music and food, attendees can enjoy a variety of games and activities for all ages. A bake sale, 50/50 raffle, and a freewill offering will be available to support Westminster’s Music Scholar Program, which has been fostering musical talent from local universities for over 30 years.

A Celebration of Music and Community

Reflecting on the event, Westminster’s Minister of Music, Callie Boone, shared, “The Raking in the Fun Fall Festival began in 2022 as a way to highlight the talents of our music scholars and local musicians while building community. It was such a hit that we’ve added even more music, vendors, and food trucks each year. We’re excited to welcome everyone for an afternoon of joy and fellowship while supporting the sustainability of our music ministry.” Westminster’s music ministry has long been a cornerstone of its community life, and this festival continues that tradition by celebrating the power of music to bring people together.

Bring the Family and Join the Fun!

Event organizer Ryan Mancini adds, “This event is for everyone! Whether you’re a member or not, young or old, come for FREE and experience the joy of live music, great food, and a lively atmosphere. We’ve got an incredible lineup this year with something for everyone. We want the parking lot full of dancing, eating, shopping, and pure fun!”
