‘Celebrating Diversity’ Exhibit Opens at West Hartford Art League, Artist Talk Planned

The work of five well known artists of color from the Greater Hartford area will be on display to celebrate Martin Luther King Day and Black History month.

“Celebrating Diversity, An Invitational Exhibit,” featuring work by artists Michael Borders, Stanwyck Cromwell,  Linda Martin, EdJohnetta Miller, and Joe Sam, is now open at the West Hartford Art League.

This exhibit, created to celebrate Martin Luther King Day and Black History month, highlights work by five well known artists of color from greater Hartford. The exhibit will be on display in the Art Leagues Saltbox Gallery through Feb. 12.

An  artist talk will be held Sunday, Jan. 22 at 2 p.m, followed by a reception from 3-5 p.m. Both are free and open to the public.

An improvisational quilting workshop by artist EdJohnetta Miller will be offered in conjunction with the exhibit on Saturday Jan. 14. Registration can be found on the Art League’s website.

The Saltbox Gallery is located at 37 Buena Vista Road, West Hartford. Gallery hours are Thursday through Sunday, from 1 to 4 p.m.
