As if Mama D and her crew weren’t crazy enough, they’re pulling out all of the stops with an all-new original summer burlesque show at Playhouse on Park. Tickets are on sale now for “Mama D’s Gay Nineties Romp,” running Aug. 16-25.
The summer heat causes a little deliriousness and a miscommunication sends the cast into a frenzy. As they try to make sense of questionable costume choices, they come to the conclusion that the only way to solve the problem would be to take off the clothes – while singing and dancing, of course. “Mama D’s Gay Nineties Romp” is directed and choreographed by Playhouse co-artistic director and co-founder Darlene Zoller. Music direction by the obscenely talented Dr. Colin Britt.
Come for a show promising sexy entertainment with live music, with a wink and a nod to some classic hits from one of the most fabulous decades. This tantalizing show is not for everyone, as the saying goes: we’re rude, crude, and partially nude! Mama D’s is BYOB and appropriate for ages 21 and older.
“Mama D’s Gay Nineties Romp” is limited to only seven performances: Aug. 16 at 7:30 p.m., Aug. 17 at 8 p.m., Aug. 18 at 8 p.m., Aug. 22 at 7:30 p.m , Au. 23 at 7:30 p.m., Aug. 24 at 8 p.m., and Aug. 25 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25, all seats reserved.
