The Golden Thread Gallery is pleased to present its latest exhibition FORM & VOID with an Artist Reception on Saturday, Nov. 15, from 7 – 8:30 p.m. This event is free and the public is cordially invited to attend.
FORM & VOID is our second exhibit in our “YIN & YANG: A SEASON OF CONNECTION & BALANCE” exhibits. FORM & VOID includes a diverse selection of work from 24 artists from all over the country. By displaying a collection of perspectives on a common theme, the exhibit offers a unique cultural and educational experience, which creatively illustrates the diversity of the human condition. Sculpture, oil, mixed media and silkscreen are just a few of the art mediums represented in this exhibit.
Our art talk, “The Evolution of Social/Political Artwork in the context of FORM & VOID,” will take place on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 3 p.m., and will be given by the artist Robert Markey. Robert Markey was born in New York in 1947. He earned his B.S. in physics from M.I.T in1969 and his M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts in 1982. He has traveled extensively, working, studying and teaching in Japan, India, Europe, Central and South America. Markey works in several media including painting, sculpture, installation, video and mosaics. Markey has installed his mosaic works across the world, with pieces in Brazil, India and Sri Lanka. He has also done public art projects in cities around the country including New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Houston and Minneapolis.
