The 2023 Kids Community Music Camp will be held Aug. 21 through 25 at Music at the Red Door, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 679 Farmington Avenue in West Hartford, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

More than 20 children are expected to be in action as they attend beginning violin, dance, drumming and singing classes during each camp day. Campers will be in grades 3, 4 and 5 in September.

Our goal is to provide this experience for children from school districts that typically have underfunded arts programs, especially children from Hartford schools and those that live in the neighborhood around St. John’s. Camp directors are Calida Jones and Scott Lamlein and teachers are professional musicians, assisted by many volunteers.

The cost for the entire week is $30. We award scholarships to anyone that may have a need. Snacks and lunch are provided every day as well as break/recess times for the children to get to know each other.

More information can be found on the website or by emailing [email protected]e.
