By Carole Mulready

Fellow residents of the Greater Hartford region, my name is Carole Mulready and I serve as the volunteer chair of Voter Services for the League of Women Voters of Greater Hartford (LWVGH). The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan organization providing election information and candidate Voter Guides for over 100 years.

Election season is fast approaching. This year’s election cycle covers both houses of the Connecticut General Assembly, all five Congressional Districts including our region’s District 1, and one U.S. Senate seat.

As we do every year, LWVGH is gearing up to support voters with general election information and online Voter Guides through the League’s award-winning election information system Vote411 (www.Vote411.org).

This year we have invited our region’s primary candidates to share their views with voters.  We have invited all Democratic primary candidates for CGA House District 15 (which includes a portion of West Hartford), CGA Senate District 2, and the Republican primary candidates for this year’s U.S. Senate seat election to participate in Vote411. Just enter your HD15, SD2 Connecticut address and then click on their profile to find their answers to Voter Guide questions.  Candidates respond to questions by entering their views directly into Vote411; their responses are not edited by LWVGH. Vote411 is a free service for voters and candidates. If you find a candidate has not yet responded, please urge them to do so!

This year for the first time, Connecticut voters have the opportunity to vote early in-person, before Election Day. In-person early voting for the primary begins on Aug. 5. Primary Election Day is Tuesday, Aug. 13. You can find more details about in-person early voting, determine if you are eligible to vote, and find out how to register to vote on Vote411. We are a “One Stop Shop” for voting!

Please visit Vote411 by typing the address (www.Vote411.org) into your browser’s address bar or by scanning the QR code.
