To the West Hartford community,

I am overwhelmed with gratitude for each and every one of you who have supported and loved me during this painful period.

No doubt tonight may be difficult for me personally as well. Serving as your Deputy Mayor is an honor. But tonight isn’t about me. Tonight is about welcoming in two new councilors as well as seven returning councilors who have worked hard campaigning and earned your support.

It’s about saying goodbye to two councilors who have put in countless hours volunteering to serve our town.

Tonight is about coming together as a town, a town we all care about, and chose to live in. Some of us, including Jody Mock and I, choose this town specifically to create and raise a family. So many memories created.

Tomorrow the new Council begins our work together for the good of all West Hartford.

Beth Kerrigan
West Hartford

Editor’s Note: This letter was submitted by Deputy Mayor Beth Kerrigan prior to the Town Council’s vote for its president (mayor) and vice president (deputy mayor) Tuesday night.
