To the Community of West Hartford:

As we close the doors of The Clothes Horse located 175 Park Rd., The Junior League of Hartford (JLH) would like to thank the greater Hartford community, as well as the Park Road neighborhood for their loyalty and support of the Clothes Horse. The store, which began as a rummage sale in 1946, and opened as a brick and mortar store in 1948, became a mainstay in the Hartford and West Hartford communities and a symbol of the Junior League of Hartford for 70 years.

We want to thank our staff, volunteers, old (and new!) friends, customers, and JLH members for their continuous support. While we celebrate the end of an era for The Junior League of Hartford, we are thrilled that the space at 175 Park Rd. will continue to serve and give back to the community as The Villages for Families and Children launches a thrift store, letting the spirit and legacy of The Clothes Horse live on.

We look forward to working together to further our mission and continue giving back to the community these next 70 years through dynamic volunteer opportunities and fundraising efforts that align with our mission to train volunteers and serve the greater Hartford community.

Thank you,

Whitney Sweeney
President, Junior League of Hartford
