To the Editor:
In the August 11th Democratic Primary for the 20th District State Representative, I enthusiastically support Kate Farrar.
I was the State Representative for the District for 12 years. I know first-hand the qualities needed to be a dynamic leader at the State Capitol and to be a voice for our neighbors & friends. Kate is exactly the smart, hard-working, energetic legislator that Elmwood/West Hartford needs right now.
I have known Kate for nearly 20 years, and I have seen her in action advocating for policies to protect and strengthen women’s rights, child nutrition programs, and healthcare. She listens to everyone, learns in scope and detail about complex issues, and then leads the way to get important laws passed. During my tenure, comprehensive healthcare reform was one of my priorities.
I have no doubt Kate will fight to address health care access, quality, and affordability especially for our most vulnerable residents – like seniors. Having grown up and lived in our part of West Hartford most of my life, I want it to continue to be great place to live. That is why Kate Farrar has my strong support in the August 11th Democratic primary – she has the knowledge, stamina, and judgement to be an outstanding advocate for all of us.
David McCluskey, former 20th District State Representative (1999 to 2011)
