West Hartford is participating in the global celebration of making music on the longest day of the year – Monday, June 21. This is the perfect day to come together and play – whether it is for the first time or the thousandth.

Music & Arts West Hartford invites everyone, from professional musicians to people who have never picked up an instrument, to join in the global music celebration by performing or attending this event outside of the Music & Arts store, 989 Farmington Avenue, and at Webster Walk in Blue Back Square, on Monday, June 21, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Musicians of all skill levels are welcome to sign-up to perform. Whether you are a soloist or a full band, you may choose from available time slots ranging in time: 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 60 minutes. Contact Christopher Bolton, store manager, Music & Arts West Hartford, for a time slot at 860-231-9562. Deadline to sign-up is Friday, June 18, 2021. (Lyrics must not contain any explicit words.)

Make Music Day is a one-day event where free, live musical performances, opportunities to make music and other musical events take place around the world in over 1,000 cities inspired by France’s Fête de la Musique.

West Hartford’s Make Music Day is a collaboration by Music & Arts, West Hartford Commission on the Arts, Town of West Hartford, Blue Back Square, Telefunken USA, University of Hartford Theater, and School of Rock West Hartford.
