Northwest Catholic High School is proud to announce the opening of its newest addition, The Breen Multi-Sport Athletic Complex. This impressive facility was made possible by a generous $2 million donation from alumnus Mark Breen – the largest single gift ever received by the school.

On June 15, The Breen Multi-Sport Athletic Complex will be playable marking an exciting milestone for all involved parties who worked tirelessly towards making this dream a reality. Designed by Kaestle Boos Associates (KBA) with Mountain View Lawncare & Landscape (MV) serving as general contractors, these facilities have been designed to meet current safety standards while enhancing player experience through modern amenities.

“Northwest Catholic is a family and a community that shapes hearts, minds and souls for the better, and has been doing so since its doors opened in 1961,” said Breen. “It is my great honor to be able to help them carry out their mission and give them the tools they need to truly thrive.”

“This amazing show of generosity from Mark Breen positions us perfectly for the future and will result in as fine an athletic complex as any school, public or private, in Greater Hartford,” added Father Dolan. “We nurture the full student at Northwest Catholic – mind, body and spirit – so making a long-term investment in athletics makes all sense.”

At Northwest Catholic High School over 90% of students participate in some form of athletics which speaks volumes about their commitment to team sports and physical activity. With this donation from Breen, the school can now enhance its already successful athletic programs even further providing even more opportunities for students to engage in healthy competition.

The Breen Multi-Sport Athletic Complex stands testament Northwest Catholic’s commitment towards providing quality education through sports activities that promote overall development among its student-athletes. NWC is committed to creating an environment where students can thrive both academically and athletically. That is why the school is thrilled to unveil this impressive new facility which will help further enhance the already successful athletic programs. NWC is grateful for Breen’s generous donation that has made this possible and looks forward to welcoming everyone this September for the official opening of this new facility.
