West Hartford Little League held its annual parade Sunday to kick off the 2019 season.

There’s nothing like a Little League/Miracle League Opening Day parade and festivities to brighten a cold, drizzly, gray, April-in-Connecticut-lousy day.
Hundreds of players on teams from T-ball through Majors marched onto the field at the West Hartford Little League Complex on April 28, and Mayor Shari Cantor – still on the injured list with a bum knee – threw out the first pitch, with state Sen. Derek Slap and state Rep. Jillian Gilchrest also in attendance.
Then the first games of the year were played, cold and rainy, but with the promise of a warmer spring and summer ahead.
