A bullet has now been recovered from the 1195 New Britain Ave., and West Hartford Police believe that shots were fired at the residence last week.

West Hartford Police received several calls on the afternoon of Friday, Dec. 2, reporting the sound of gunfire near the intersection of Westgate Street and New Britain Avenue.

Police said that neighbors reported seeing a dark-colored older SUV driving south on Westgate Street, and also said that juveniles ran into the house at 1195 New Britain Ave. and then came back outside and looked at the siding of the house. Weapons were not observed, police said.

Detectives did not initially find any evidence of shots fired, but on Friday, Dec. 9, reported that a bullet had been found.

Police said that they do not believe that the incident was random, and believe that the residents of the home at 1195 were the intended targets.

According to police, the residents have not provided any information or leads to assist in finding a suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to contact West Hartford Police Det. M. Bonzagni at 860-570-8879.
