Speak Up held a fundraiser for Wolcott School in 2020, just before the pandemic, and this year will welcome veteran and first-time storytellers for a virtual edition of “School Days” on Saturday, April 24.
“Teachers telling stories about school. Family friendly,” said Matthew Dicks, a fifth grade teacher at Wolcott who is also a 52-time Moth StorySLAM winner and a six-time GrandSLAM champion.
The event will also feature Wolcott fifth grade teacher Jennifer Stanish and third grade teacher Eric Feeney – both veteran storytellers – along with newcomers Erica Newfang (school psychologist) and Kirsten Bednarz, a former Wolcott student and current teaching assistant. All will offer their own unique perspective.
Elysha Dicks will serve as host.
All proceeds will go to Wolcott’s “Welcoming schools initiative to support families in need,” Matthew Dicks said.
The virtual doors open at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, and the show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased here: https://bit.ly/2RGUJBX
