Special Ticket Price, Other Exciting West Hartford Wine & Food Updates

West Hartford Wine & Food Festival rendering

The inaugural West Hartford Food and Wine Festival on June 17, 2017, will have so much more than wine and food!

By Tom Hickey and Joy Taylor

Due to the overwhelmingly positive response to last Monday’s special ticket price to the first ever West Hartford Wine & Food Festival (WHFW), We-Ha.com is offering it again – Monday only.

During the day on Monday, June 12, please follow this link to get your tickets to the event, and use promo code “weha” for $25 off your admission.

The sponsors of this event are being quite creative, but by far one of the most inventive is the partnership including Fay deHaas and Lisa Martin of Cruise Planners, who will be giving away a cruise valued (up to) $15,000 to a lucky winner of their game of chance.

It is a “chance for charity” so you have to make a donation at the rate of $50 per chance (or 3 for $100). Each contestant will be given a cork to toss into their choice of a red wine, white wine, or champagne glass on pedestals of varying heights. If you get it in (from 7 feet away) your cork will be entered into a drawing that day. Finalists must be present when a winner is drawn, so make sure you stick around for the big drawing on the Showmobile Stage.

The chance for charity game is insured by Ryan Keating of Keating Insurance. All proceeds will go to the Independent School non-profit beneficiaries. Among the possible cruise themes is a wine cruise, so come take a chance!

Bruce Stanger and Sandy Stanfield of StangerStanfield LAW are working with Kevin Cowan from Pure Marketing (Maximum Beverage) to be certain all patrons are safe drivers, or have designated drivers with special offers by LYFT and discounted pricing for designated drivers.

ProCourier’s Mike Gualtieri, whose company specializes in same day delivery services, is working with Matt Whitney of Maximum Beverage to deliver all of the wine special orders from the WHWF to your home or business.

Sardilli Produce is providing a refrigerated truck for all our restaurant vendor needs.

Tom Hickey and Jill Fletcher acknowledge and thank all of the sponsors for the Inaugural West Hartford Food & Wine, including Central CT State University, JP Carroll Construction, Lux Bond & Green, Mercy Community Health, NorthStar Wealth Partners, and Valerie Thomas & Associates.

Tom Hickey added that fellow publishers in Connecticut and Massachusetts including CT Jewish Ledger and Moffly Media have joined as Media Sponsors and will increase exposure for the event.

If you haven’t heard yet, there will be a silent auction benefiting the independent schools. Watch for something special from Delamar and GOLFTEC.

If you are a business owner in town and would like to donate an item please let us know by reaching out to [email protected].

There’s so much more to say about the event, and really the only true way to get the full effect is to attend! We will add one more thing since many may not know about this Friday night special VIP ticket offer. The incredible VIP wine list will be paired with food catered by Flemings, so please check it out.
