The Sounds of Summer Concert Series, Comedy Nights, and Camp Blue Back are among the events taking place at West Hartford’s Blue Back Square this summer.

West Hartford is a “hot town” in the summer, and Blue Back Square is hosting a wide variety of events so that the days as well as the nights will be a vibrant hub of activity for people of all ages.
“We are very excited to welcome summer with some fun and new events planned at Blue Back Square,” said General Manager Robyn Rifkin. “There’s something for everyone with children’s events, comedy nights, live music, and date night fun. Our retailers and restaurants always have something going on, too.”
A full schedule of events can be found online at www.bluebacksquare.com/events, but here are some highlights:
PureBarre, West Hartford kicked off their first free barre class on June 8, and will continue with free classes in the square on June 15, July 6 and 16, and Aug. 3 and 10, from 6 to 7 p.m.
The Sounds of Summer Concert Series kicks off on Wednesday, June 22, and great performances are lined up throughout the season. Wednesday, June 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. will feature Jukebox 45; The Zoo will perform on Wednesday, July 13, from 6 to 8 p.m.; and Aug. 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. will feature Locomotion. If events are postponed due to rain, they will be rescheduled for the following day (Thursday).
Other live music is scheduled throughout the week at Blue Back – including Hot Cat Jazz Band on July 28th from 6pm-8pm and more!
Camp Blue Back returns to Blue Back Square on June 28 and kids are welcome to participate every Tuesday, through Aug. 9, from 10 a.m. until noon. The free Camp Blue Back activities like arts & crafts, story time, sing-a-longs, character visits, face painting, balloon animals, and more.
Blue Back Square is bringing on the laughs this summer with free Comedy Night events in The Square. In partnership with 20/20 Media, a comedy showcase will take place on Thursday, June 30 and Thursday, July 14, from 8 to 9 p.m. Enjoy five comedians live on stage.
Blue Back Square is also bringing ART to the property this summer. Stay tuned for a partnership with RiseUP which includes some fun murals at the property and some fun kids art events, too.
