As part of the work being conducted for the West Hartford Center Infrastructure Master Plan, the town is conducting a parking survey with questions about usage of the parking areas in the Center and Blue Back Square.
“The goal of the study is to understand how people use the parking system today,” states a news release announcing the survey.
The survey, which takes less than five minutes to complete, includes 10 questions related that include the reason respondents visit the Center or Blue Back Square, where they usually park and for how long, why they might choose not to park in one of the garages, and factors such as weather, cost, or safety that impact parking choice. Respondents are also asked to indicate how long it usually takes to find a parking space, and how close that space typically is to their destination.

Director of Community Development Duane Martin told the Town Council’s Community Planning and Economic Development Committee on Wednesday that the West Hartford Center Master Plan is at 30% design completion and staff is offering comments before it progresses to the next stage. At the 60% design stage, further public engagement efforts will take place.
