On Sunday, Dec. 4, Ballet Theatre Company (BTC) is offering a fun, magical, and safe way to kick off the holiday season. For one day only, BTC will transform its West Hartford studios into a Nutcracker-themed indoor carnival from 1-5 p.m.

Looking for something fun to do with the kids this Sunday? What could be better than the magic of The Nutcracker? If your kids or grandchildren enjoy games, prizes, crafts, and delicious treats, don’t miss out on this magic holiday adventure!

This Nutcracker Carnival is perfect for children ages 3 to 11. Children will take a journey through the Land of the Sweets and battle the Mouse King, steep tea, create snowflakes just like in the Snow Scene, decorate a gluten-free, vegan Sugar Cookie in Mother Ginger’s Cookie Corner provided by Dee’s One Smart Cookie, and enjoy Russell’s Creative Cuisine at our concessions stand!

Join BTC for the full four hours, one hour or two! Everything at The Nutcracker Carnival is operated through a ticket system. Ticket packages to the Nutcracker Carnival are available for purchase online at www.dancebtc.org. Carnival-goers can choose between Clara’s Bundle of 15 tickets for $20, Dew Drop’s Bundle of 25 tickets for $30, or Sugar Plum’s Bundle of 30 tickets for $40.

No money will be exchanged throughout the event unless attendees need to purchase additional tickets. Each ticket bundle will come with at least one colorful bag for your child to carry their tokens, tickets, and prizes! There are three ticket bundles available to best suit the needs of all attendees! In addition, smaller ticket bundles will be available the day of the carnival for children who need to refuel.

As children submit their tickets for games and activities, they will win tokens for prizes in the carnival’s prize room! Tickets can be used to purchase child-friendly foods with vegan and GF options. All serious carnival gamers are sure to get hungry, so there will be plenty of delicious carnival food to satisfy taste buds. Russell’s Creative Global Cuisine is providing kid (and adult) friendly foods.

The Nutcracker Carnival is a fundraising event for Ballet Theatre Company. All proceeds will go towards its Sensory-Friendly Ballet which provides a safe, judgment-free, relaxed environment for those who have sensory or any other types of challenges that may make them feel uncomfortable at a “typical” performance.
