Diners will once again have the opportunity to dine al fresco under a tent at one of West Hartford’s most beautiful and natural locations at the annual “Feast on the Farm” on Friday, Sept. 27, from 6-9 p.m. at Westmoor Park.

DORO Restaurant Group will again provide three courses of the meal, with a menu featuring locally-grown produce and other seasonal products for guests to enjoy with views of the wildflower meadow, tallgrass prairie, and other natural beauty on the grounds of Westmoor Park. The main course is braised beef short ribs, with squash ravioli available as a vegetarian alternative.

Russell’s Creative Global Cuisine will provide hors d’oeuvres as the first course to begin the festivities.

Students from the Hall High School cross country team and Westmoor Park’s 4H Club will assist throughout the evening as volunteers.

The event is a benefit for the Westmoor Park Fund. Westmoor Park is self-funded and not supported by tax dollars, and proceeds will be used to support improvements to the park’s environmental education infrastructure.

The 162-acre Westmoor Park is located at 119 Flagg Rd., and is “an environmental, agricultural and horticultural education center dedicated to raising awareness and appreciation of the natural world.” The facility includes a demonstration farm, and attracts more than 100,000 visitors a year and in 2023 achieved accreditation as a Level I Arboretum.

The informal Feast on the Farm event, which typically sells out, provides a community experience for a variety of diners, including many long-time supporters of Westmoor Park.

Tickets for the BYOB event are $100 per person and can be purchased online through the Westmoor Park webpage. For more information, contact Westmoor Park at 860-561-8260.

Gold sponsors include the Sandra and Arnold Chase Family Foundation, John G. Martin Foundation, and DORO Restaurant Group. Moscarillo’s is a bronze sponsor and “Friends” include George Udal, Hartford Baking Company, YHB, and Quaker Lane Cooperative Nursery School.
