The ‘Blizzard of 2015’ may not have turned out to be as big an event in West Hartford as originally forecast, but it’s still pretty snowy out there.

West Hartford residents who expected to wake up Tuesday morning unable to see out the front door because of forehead high snowdrifts were somewhat disappointed, but there was still a significant amount of snow that fell throughout town.
It’s hard to measure because of the drifting, but the ruler in a place on my patio that had been cleared before the storm, and seems to be free of drifting, shows 11 inches.
A walk around the neighborhood at 11 a.m. revealed some spots that had been completely blown free of snow, and others where drifts were several feet high. The only vehicles visible on the roads (and that included South Main Street and Webster Hill Boulevard) had plows attached, and it appears as if most residents were heeding the travel ban which is lifted at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Here’s a photo gallery of storm photos. We would love to include your photos as well. Send them to Ronni Newton at [email protected] and I will add them!
