Dear Residents of West Hartford 20th District:
It is with great regret that I must end my campaign as the Republican candidate for State Representative in the 20th District.
I am grateful for having had the opportunity to campaign in a district that I am so passionate about. The diversity in the 20th is representative of what makes West Hartford a great place to raise your family. The way the community and local businesses came together during these difficult times to support each other so that our town can continue to stay vibrant is why I’m proud to call West Hartford home.
Due to a personal life circumstance, my family and I had to relocate within town. Unfortunately, our new home is not in the 20th District so I am no longer eligible to run and serve in the 20th. Although I am no longer running I will continue to be involved in our community and will continue to fight to put the focus back on the West Hartford taxpayer, something that has been missing in your government representation for too long.
I want to thank the members of my campaign committee for their support especially during these difficult times, and to thank the West Hartford Republican Town Committee for endorsing me. Thanks to everyone that took the time to donate, call and email me. Your support and encouragement make this worth it. I also would like to thank my wife Jessica for putting up with all the Zoom meetings, phone calls, and most important for believing in me.
Sincerely,
Alberto Cortes
