An investigation into a stabbing in a parking lot at Westfarms that resulted in injury to a female victim remains under active investigation by Farmington Police.
West Hartford Police said units responded and they are assisting with the investigation at Westfarms, which spans the West Hartford and Farmington town lines, but the overall incident is being handled by Farmington Police.
Farmington Police Lt. Matthew Corcoran said police responded to a parking lot outside the mall on Sunday at approximately 4:25 p.m. in response to a report that a female had been stabbed in the leg.
The victim was treated at the scene and transported to an area hospital for further treatment, police said. Her condition was not provided.
Suspects have been located and detained by police in connection with this incident, Corcoran said.
The investigation remains active, but he said there is “currently no danger to the public.”
More details are expected to be released later Sunday, police said. Please check back with We-Ha.com for updates.
