While members of the West Hartford Board of Education were not up for election this year, annually they vote on leadership and on Tuesday night elected a chair, vice chair, secretary, and financial advisors for the existing term.
The top two leadership roles have remained unchanged. With Superintendent of Schools Paul Vicinus temporarily taking over as chair, Board members unanimously elected Democrats Lorna Thomas-Farquharson to continue as chair and for Shannon Marimón to continue as vice chair.
LaToya Fernandez Yagaloff was elected to the position of Board secretary – a role previously held by Clare Taylor Neseralla.
Each party has a financial examiner, and Jason Gagnon was selected for role for the Democrats while Ethan Goldman will continue in the position of financial examiner for the Republicans.
“Thank you all so much for your commitment to this town,” Thomas-Farquharson told her fellow Board members at the conclusion of the meeting.
