The soon-to-be-vacated Lululemon space in the heart of West Hartford Center will not be vacant for long.
Mike Mahoney, president of West Hartford-based RLM Co. and property manager for the building, said Friday afternoon that cosmetics retailer Bluemercury has just signed the lease for 987 Farmington Ave.
Although Bluemercury will not be able to open in time for the holidays, Mahoney said he is “really happy with the retailer” that will move into the space.
Bluemercury currently has about 70 locations throughout the country. The only other Connecticut stores are in Fairfield County (Darien, New Canaan, and two in Westport). “They should be a great fit for West Hartford Center,” Mahoney said.
According to the bluemercury.com website, the business was founded by Barry and Marla Malcolm Beck in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, DC, in 1999. The company was acquired by Macy’s, Inc. in March 2015.
Bluemercury prides itself on offering “the world’s most innovative beauty products in a truly unique shopping experience. Bluemercury clients receive unparalleled technical product knowledge, expert advice and friendly service.” Bluemercury provides samples and offers technical advice to ensure customer satisfaction.
Bluemercury locations also include spas, offering “ultimate results-oriented treatments, including our world renowned oxygen facials, glycolic peels, waxing and microdermabrasion” according to the website.
Mahoney said that he doesn’t know the exact opening date, but it should be sometime in the spring of 2016.
