Kingswood Oxford School is thrilled to announce that it will be an official host site of this year’s MLB Pitch Hit & Run Competition on Sunday, April 6, right here in West Hartford.

This free event is open to all boys and girls ages 7-14 and gives young athletes a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to showcase their baseball and softball skills. Players will compete in three fundamental areas – pitching, hitting, and running – and winners from each age group (7/8, 9/10, 11/12, and 13/14) will advance to the regional level of the competition.

And here’s the real game-changer: If the event reaches 175 participants, winners will qualify to compete directly at a Major League Baseball stadium, such as Yankee Stadium or Fenway Park. From there, they could advance to the National Finals held during the 2025 World Series.

“This is such an exciting opportunity – not just for young athletes, but for the whole community,” said Ryan Radmanovich, Kingswood Oxford’s Varsity Baseball Coach, former MLB player, and two-time Olympian for Team Canada. “The idea that a kid from West Hartford could be standing on a big-league field, competing for a national title during the World Series, is incredible.”

Online registration is open now and spots are filling up quickly. Parents and coaches can sign up their players by visiting this website.

Registration is free and the event will be held on Sunday, April 6, from 9 a.m. to noon, on the campus of Kingswood Oxford School in West Hartford.

We encourage families, teams, and volunteers to get involved and help spread the word so we can hit our goal and bring this major league dream to life for our local kids!
